King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture( Ithra) has signed an agreement to borrow 84 artifacts from the holdings of the Museum of Islamic Art in Cairo for a period of 2 years, in participation with the exhibition “The Mosque section” that is going to held soon.
The Ithra on its Twitter said that "Ithra signs an agreement with the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities for joint cooperation on the upcoming mosque-focused exhibition, “Shatr AlMasjid.” The agreement includes a two-year loan of 84 artifacts from Cairo’s Museum of Islamic Art collection".
- Al Arabiya news in its report stated that the exhibition "The Mosque section" deals with the story of the mosque’s emergence and its pioneering role in societies. The exhibition also reviews art pieces that support the mosque’s function and aesthetics.
- Ithra Museum includes many artifacts dating back to the ninth century from the National Museum in Riyadh in addition to its own collection, the pieces loaned from the Supreme Council of Egyptian Antiquities form the nucleus of the "Mosque Segment" exhibition, which includes the pulpit, the mihrab and prayer rugs. In addition to various artifacts and holdings that reflect the development and aesthetics of the mosque.
