Three Saudi youths have developed a new mobile application to help those who want to get meals to break their fast during the month of Ramadan.

Executive Director of the application Fahd bin Thabit said the idea of the app was born in 2016 after he sent to his friend staying in France some of his favorite dishes just like gifts and flowers are being sent on the Internet.

”I began to wonder why can’t I develop an application that helps a user send food to another user within a geographical area anywhere in the world?” Thabit said.

He added that he invested in the digital revolution and translated his dream to a reality by integrating advanced marketing and logistic services into a single platform that enables anyone to touch on his smartphone to sell and buy home-made or third-party foods.

“My brother Umar and my cousin Muhannad helped me make the final touches of the idea that took a year and a half and we contracted with a US company in the field of developing electronic applications. Lebanese media personality Ms. Biya Hamoush also joined us,” he said.

The app service is available in 80 cities in 14 countries in collaboration with some transport companies. There is cooperation with several government agencies to promote the entry of productive families into the market, Thabit said.

He said the application has already started serving the refugees in Lebanon in coordination with 30 Islamic, Christian and civilian charitable organizations.
