Sulaiman Al-Hamdan is the minister of civil service in Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hamdan was born in 1955 in Buraidah, obtained a bachelor’s degree in administrative sciences from the University of Riyadh, and a master’s in business management from the University of New Haven in Connecticut in 1985.
Al-Hamdan served as minister of transportation from 2016 before becoming minister of civil service a year later.
A former president of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, during his tenure he worked to restructure the organization through a privatization program, as well as expansion projects for many airports across the country.
In addition, Al-Hamdan worked for the Saudi Fund for Development, at several national banks and the for National Air Services Co. He is a former chairman of the board of Saudia, and was also the CEO of Nas Holding Co.
He currently sits on the advisory committee of the College of Industrial Management at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, where he is also a member of the university’s board of directors.
On Wednesday, Al-Hamdan took part in the 9th International Conference on Human Resources in Dubai, under the patronage of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, the crown prince of Dubai.
The conference hosts world-renowned experts, specialists and professionals, and is attended by hundreds of human resources specialists and enthusiasts from the region and the world at large.
