In a statement issued on the occasion of Hajj, Saudi Arabia's Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, emphasized the importance of avoiding political propaganda during the annual pilgrimage. The grand mufti urged pilgrims to focus on the sanctity of the pilgrimage, maintaining peace of mind, and tranquility.
According to Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, the pilgrimage is a time for supplication and worship, and it should not be marred by arguments, strife, shouting, or political slogans. He urged pilgrims to approach the pilgrimage with sincerity, following the Sunnah of the Prophet and glorifying God.
Expressing gratitude for the blessings of Islam, the grand mufti highlighted the facilities and services provided by Saudi Arabia for the pilgrims. He urged pilgrims to adhere to three important principles: sincerity in the intention of performing the pilgrimage for God alone, adherence to the teachings of the Prophet, and honoring the sanctities of God during the pilgrimage.
In the spirit of veneration, the grand mufti emphasized the importance of staying away from sins and bad deeds during the pilgrimage. He urged pilgrims to cooperate with the authorities in enforcing regulations and plans designed to facilitate their movement and ensure their peace and comfort. Additionally, the pilgrims were reminded to maintain clean feelings and intentions throughout the journey.
The grand mufti also called upon the pilgrims to appreciate the blessings bestowed upon them by God and the efforts made by the government of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, in providing services and facilities for a smooth and comfortable pilgrimage experience.
Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, holds immense spiritual significance for Muslims around the world. The grand mufti's message serves as a reminder to prioritize worship, unity, and spiritual growth during this sacred journey.
