The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) has forecasted that most regions of Saudi Arabia will experience moderate to heavy thunderstorms from Wednesday until next Sunday. The weather conditions will include strong winds, dust storms, flash floods, and hail in various regions.

Severe Weather Expected in Makkah Region

Several governorates of the Makkah region will face moderate to heavy rain, accompanied by dust storms reaching speeds of 60 km/h, flash floods, and hail. The affected areas include:

  • Makkah City
  • Jeddah
  • Rabigh
  • Al-Jumum
  • Al-Kamil
  • Bahra
  • Al-Laith
  • Qunfudhah
  • Taif
  • Adham
  • Maysan
  • Al-Ardiyat
  • Al-Mawiya
  • Al-Khormah
  • Raniyah
  • Turbah

Weather Conditions in Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, and Eastern Regions

The regions of Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, the Eastern Province, the Northern Borders, and Al-Jouf will experience light to moderate rains, along with active downdrafts that raise dust and sand from Wednesday to Sunday.

Heavy Rain and Strong Winds in Madinah and Al-Baha

Most governorates of the Madinah region, including Madinah City, Khaybar, Badr, Al-Mahd, Wadi Al-Fara, and Hanakiyah, will be affected by moderate to heavy rain, along with dust storms, flash floods, and hail.

Similarly, the Al-Baha region is expected to witness heavy rainfall and dust storms reaching speeds of 60 km/h.

Intense Rainfall in Asir Region

The Asir region will experience moderate to heavy rains, with the most intense rainfall expected on Friday and Saturday. This will be accompanied by strong downdrafts, dust storms, flash floods, and hail.

Jazan and Najran to Witness Heavy Rains

The Jazan region is forecasted to receive moderate to heavy rains, along with downdrafts that raise dust and sand at speeds of 60 km/h. Flash floods and hailstorms are also likely.

Similarly, the Najran region will be affected by moderate rains, dust storms, and potential flash floods.
