Saudi Arabia has introduced a comprehensive National Policy to Eliminate Forced Labor, marking a significant step in its commitment to safeguarding workers' rights and eradicating forced labor practices.

Key Highlights of the Policy

Integrated National Framework

The policy aims to unify efforts across various sectors to effectively eliminate all forms of forced labor within the Kingdom.

Alignment with International Standards

By implementing this policy, Saudi Arabia reinforces its adherence to international labor standards, particularly the International Labour Organization's (ILO) 2014 Protocol to the Forced Labour Convention, which the Kingdom ratified as the first Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nation. 

Multifaceted Approach

The policy focuses on prevention, victim protection, and enhanced coordination at national, regional, and international levels to combat forced labor effectively.

Victim-Centered Initiatives

It prioritizes offering legal, social, and economic support to victims, ensuring their access to justice and facilitating recovery and empowerment.
