Saudi Arabia has made history in the motor vehicle periodic inspection (MVPI) sector as new investors enter the market, according to Dr. Saad Alkasabi, governor of the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO). The MVPI sector has been working diligently to establish the terms and conditions for investment, leading to the recent entry of two companies into the field.

During an interview with Al-Arabiya channel, Dr. Alkasabi expressed his excitement about this milestone, stating, "Today is a historic day for SASO as we announce the entry of two companies as new investors in the MVPI sector." He further explained that licenses have already been issued to these companies, which will operate two networks covering various cities, including major urban centers.

Dr. Alkasabi revealed that SASO plans to grant licenses to two additional investors within a month, bringing the total number of investors to four. By the end of June, the number of investors will increase to six, expanding their presence across different regions of the Kingdom.

The chief objective of opening private investment in the MVPI sector is to foster fair competition and enhance the quality of services provided for vehicle owners during periodic inspections. This initiative also aims to improve the overall experience for beneficiaries, including both Saudis and expatriates, by leveraging technology and implementing advanced solutions in the field.

Dr. Alkasabi emphasized that this important project seeks to elevate the standards of MVPI services and deliver a higher level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, it presents an opportunity to create employment opportunities for young Saudis, contributing to job localization efforts. The integration of technology in the sector will enable the provision of efficient and modernized services, further enhancing the inspection process.
