Initial Planning Phase
Preparations for the 2026 Hajj season began on June 8, 2025 (12 Dhu Al Hijjah 1446 AH), when the Ministry issued preliminary planning documents to Hajj affairs offices worldwide. These documents outlined early guidelines for logistics, accommodation, and pilgrim services.
Access to Digital Planning Systems
In early Safar, Hajj affairs offices were granted access to detailed data on camps in the holy sites through the Nusk Masar digital platform. This system enables better coordination, review, and service planning.
Contracting and Registration Process
Preparatory contracting for accommodation and core services began on 1 Rabi Al Awwal 1447 AH. October 12, 2025, was set as the deadline for completing preparatory meetings, finalizing operational data, and opening pilgrim registration in participating countries.
Visa Issuance and Final Documentation
Visa issuance officially started on February 8, 2026. In March, authorities will finalize visas and collect pilgrims’ pre-arrival readiness data to ensure all travel requirements are met.
Registration Status and Service Readiness
So far, nearly 750,000 pilgrims have registered for Hajj 2026, including around 30,000 pilgrims who booked packages directly from their home countries. Authorities have finalized accommodation contracts in Mecca and Medina, along with transport and service agreements.
Approximately 485 camps have been allocated for international pilgrims at the holy sites, while 73 Hajj affairs offices have completed their basic contractual requirements.
Role of Digital Platforms in Hajj Management
The Ministry highlighted the importance of the Nusk Masar platform and electronic wallets in managing financial and contractual processes. These systems improve transparency, accelerate procedures, and reduce disorder in bookings.
Pilgrim Arrival and Final Operational Phase
The first groups of pilgrims are expected to arrive in Saudi Arabia from April 18, 2026 (1 Dhu Al Qadah 1447 AH). This marks the beginning of the final operational phase, during which authorities ensure that all infrastructure and services are fully prepared.
