In a monumental achievement, Saudi Arabia has made its mark in the Guinness Book of World Records, establishing itself as the home of the largest farm globally. This groundbreaking feat belongs to the extension farm of the Research Unit for Renewable Water Agriculture, nestled in the picturesque Wadi Bin Hashbal, Asir region.

A formal ceremony hosted at the Riyadh headquarters of the Saudi Reef Program celebrated this extraordinary accomplishment. Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadhli, the Minister of Environment, Water, and Agriculture, was honored to accept the certificate of registration, marking a historic moment.

Spanning an astounding 3.2 million square meters, the farm is divided into two sections, each boasting a concrete tank with a substantial 500-cubic-meter capacity. What sets this farm apart is its exemplification of sustainable agriculture at its finest, thanks to an autonomous irrigation system that nourishes the expansive array of crops across these vast fields. Additionally, the farm houses multiple structures and five air-conditioned greenhouses.

The farm's irrigation techniques are underpinned by a robust water treatment system meticulously organized through several stages by a team of experts proficient in irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and equipment management.

As if this isn't impressive enough, the farm is set to expand further with 20 additional fields slated for reclamation and cultivation, bringing the total to an impressive 50 fields dedicated to fruit trees.

Visitors to the farm can feast their eyes on a delightful assortment of fruits and vegetables, including lemons, oranges, tangerines, pomegranates, grapes, figs, almonds, and olives. The farm also serves as a testing ground for various agricultural varieties, embodying innovation and sustainability at its core.
