The Board of Directors of the Agricultural Development Fund in Saudi Arabia approved a number of financing loans, facilities and credit guarantees with a value exceeding 337 million riyals ($ 90 million); And within the framework of supporting the fund through its various programs for the agricultural sector.
The Vice-Chairman of the Development Fund Board, Director of the Fund, Munir Al-Sahli, said in a statement on Wednesday that the approval of these loans included the program of working capital support and operational costs in small and medium enterprises.
Al-Sahli said that the support came as an initiative from the fund to mitigate the effects of the emerging Corona virus pandemic.
Al-Sahli said: “Loans are financing the import of agricultural products targeted in the food security strategy by financing operational loans directly from the fund, or indirectly in partnership with commercial banks for projects in several agricultural sectors in a number of regions of the Kingdom.”
He pointed out that the loans included financing the first veterinary hospital for camels in the Kingdom in support of the livestock sector, in addition to support for greenhouse projects, chicken production, and the dried egg powder factory project, as well as approval to issue a number of guarantees and financial facilities for a number of feed and animal production companies in the Kingdom. .
