Qiddiya City, in a groundbreaking move, reveals plans for the globe's inaugural comprehensive gaming and esports district, with ambitions to position Saudi Arabia as a prominent player in the thriving professional esports scene.

Situated at the heart of Qiddiya City, this cutting-edge district features four esports venues meticulously designed for hosting premier events, anticipating an impressive annual footfall of 10 million visitors, as reported by the state news agency SPA.

This strategic initiative aligns with the unwavering support of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, evidenced by a dedicated 'National Strategy' and initiatives fostering talent development and strategic investments in the esports sector. The Gaming & Esports District is set to engage and inspire, appealing to two-thirds of the Saudi population.

Abdullah bin Nasser Aldawood, Managing Director of Qiddiya Investment Company, emphasized, "The gaming and esports sector is experiencing rapid growth, and we observe the ambitious plans to propel it forward. Our responsibility will be to host major events and tournaments by enhancing the infrastructure, enabling Qiddiya City to invite the world to live, learn, and compete in gaming and esports."

The district will feature four arenas with a total seating capacity of 73,000, including one of the world's top three largest esports stadiums boasting 5,300 seats. This stadium will house the largest indoor LED screen among all esports venues globally.

Encompassing over 500,000 square meters, with 100,000 square meters allocated for retail, dining, and entertainment, the hub will offer a holistic gaming experience. Gamers can live, work, and play in the district, with gaming-themed apartments and hotels adding to the immersive environment.

Designed to accommodate up to 25 esports clubs worldwide and serve as the regional headquarters for over 30 leading video game development companies, the district is poised to become a global hub by 2030, aligning with the National Strategy for Gaming and Esports.

Seated in Qiddiya City, the Gaming & Esports District embodies the Kingdom's commitment to establishing itself as a global esports destination, aiming to attract up to 10 million annual visits.
