Born in Abha, Saudi Arabia, in 1950, Alwan embarked on a remarkable literary journey. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Arabic literature from King Saud University's Faculty of Arts in 1974. His passion for literature led him to hold various positions at the Saudi Ministry of Media, including the role of assistant undersecretary. Alwan also made significant editorial contributions to the culture pages of several prominent Saudi newspapers.
