All rules and regulations adhered to by local recruitment companies and labor supply offices will be applicable to foreign agencies that recruit and hire domestic workers for the Kingdom, according to the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA).

The regulations stipulate that the foreign agency will have to obtain an operation license from the Ministry of Labor and Social Development before it begins to offer its services, the media center of SAGIA said.

The conditions for allowing foreign investment in the recruitment sector stipulate that the applicant company be a limited liability company, a joint stock company, a foreign company’s branch or any legal form issued by the Board of Directors of SAGIA.

The applicant company must have a license to practice the same business in its country, and possess a commercial record, with not less than three years of experience, Al-Madinah reported.

The company’s license should not have been suspended, withdrawn or cancelled for violating the rules and regulations in its original country or in any other country. Its website should supply all details about the services offered by it and its financial statements over the past three years.
