In a bid to promote safer and healthier driving practices, the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Saudi Arabia has issued a crucial warning against exceeding the acceptable limit of driving a car per week. Driving for more than 20 hours a week has been identified as a major cause of back pain, according to the health ministry's official "LiveWellMOH" account.
To ensure your well-being and safety on the roads, the MOH recommends six essential steps to follow before embarking on a car journey:
1. Prioritize Health Nutrition: Fuel up with a healthy snack, stay hydrated with constant water intake, and have a nutritious main meal before hitting the road.
2. Observe Rest Periods: Take regular breaks every two hours to combat fatigue and remain alert during your drive.
3. Check Weather Conditions: Stay informed about weather forecasts and road conditions for a smooth and safe trip.
4. Use a Road Map: Plan your route in advance to avoid getting lost and reduce stress during your journey.
5. Prepare a First Aid Kit: Keep a well-equipped first aid kit in your car for any unforeseen emergencies.
6. Thoroughly Inspect Your Car: Before setting off on your adventure, make sure to check your vehicle thoroughly, including the spare main tires, lights, brakes, and wipers, to ensure they are in excellent working condition.
