The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has introduced stringent penalties for public hygiene violations, applicable to both citizens and expatriates. These regulations, which will be enforced from Sunday, October 15, aim to ensure the cleanliness of public spaces. Here are the key details:

1. Tampering with Hygiene Containers: Individuals who tamper with or damage hygiene containers, the surrounding fences, or the hard floors on which they are fixed, will face a substantial fine of SR1000. In addition to the fine, they will be required to compensate for the value of the damage incurred. In case of a repeated violation, the fine will be doubled, and the violator will need to cover the repair costs.

2. Inappropriate Use of Hygiene Containers: Changing the designated purpose of hygiene containers or using them for activities other than their intended purpose will result in a fine of SR500. Similar to the first violation, the individual will need to compensate for any damage caused and correct the violation. If this violation is repeated, the fine is doubled.

3. Graffiti Violation: The ministry has set a fine of SR500 for graffiti violations in public spaces. Again, in case of repeated violations, the fine will be doubled, and the violator will need to correct the violation.

The Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing has introduced a comprehensive system of fines for public hygiene violations. This initiative aims to maintain the cleanliness of public spaces and ensure that individuals respect the designated purpose of hygiene containers.
