India has extended the ban on international commercial flights till 11:59 PM of 31st July, 2021, announced the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in its circular. The ban on scheduled international flights was to end on 30th June, after a 15-month gap.
However, The restriction shall not apply to international all-cargo operations and flights specifically approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
- International Scheduled flights may be allowed on selected routes by the competent authority on case to case basis. Flights under the bilateral air bubble pacts with selected countries will continue to operate.
- India suspended scheduled international passenger services since 23 March 2020, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But, allowed some international flights operating under Vande Bharat Mission since May last year, and under bilateral air bubble arrangements with selected countries since July.
