Hundreds of thousands of Hajj pilgrims have embarked on their spiritual journey by performing the Tawaf Al-Qudum (Tawaf of Arrival) ritual. As they prepare to enter Mina on the Day of Tarwiyah, the annual Hajj pilgrimage is set to commence with great anticipation.
1. Tawaf Al-Qudum and Arrival at Mina:
Hajj pilgrims have started the sacred act of Tawaf Al-Qudum, signifying their arrival and readiness for the Hajj pilgrimage. Following this, pilgrims will travel to Mina, a significant location situated approximately 5 km from the majestic Makkah Grand Mosque. In Mina, they will spend the Day of Tarwiyah in tents, engaging in devout prayers and supplications.
2. Rituals in Mina:
During their stay in Mina, pilgrims will observe shortened versions of the Dhuhr, Asr, and Isha prayers at the appropriate times, while the Maghrib prayer will be performed as usual without any alterations. This period provides an opportunity for pilgrims to immerse themselves in spiritual reflection, devotion, and seeking closeness to Allah.
3. Transition to Arafat:
On Tuesday, after completing the Fajr prayer, the pilgrims will bid farewell to Mina and make their way to Arafat. The "wuqoof Arafat" rite, one of the fundamental pillars of Hajj, represents the pinnacle of their annual journey. Here, pilgrims will engage in intense prayer, seeking forgiveness, and reflecting upon the significance of this sacred occasion.
4. Digital Cards for Domestic Pilgrims:
To ensure a smooth and secure experience for domestic pilgrims, the Coordination Council for Companies and Establishments for Domestic Pilgrims has made it mandatory for them to carry their digital cards on their smartphones. These cards, accessed through the Nusuk application, must be presented to security personnel when entering Makkah and while moving within the holy sites. This initiative, supported by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, enhances convenience and efficiency for pilgrims.
5. Hajj Visas for 2023:
Saudi Arabia has issued a remarkable 1.8 million Hajj e-visas for the current Hajj season in 2023 (1444 AH). Dr. Abdulfattah Mashat, the deputy minister for Umrah and Hajj, emphasized the significance of security, safety, and health during a recent news conference. He highlighted the meticulous organizational efforts that create an ideal environment for pilgrims to perform their rituals comfortably and conveniently.
6. Technological Advancements:
Recognizing the importance of technology, the deputy Hajj and Umrah minister praised its role as a lifeline for the Ministry across all operational fields. These advancements contribute to the efficient transportation of pilgrims from Mina to the Grand Mosque, with five designated locations and predetermined routes ensuring smooth and orderly movement.
