In an effort to enhance safety during the upcoming Hajj pilgrimage, the General Directorate of Civil Defense has announced a strict ban on the entry and usage of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the pilgrims' tents and government offices within the holy sites. This crucial measure is aimed at preventing the risks of fires in the pilgrim camps and ensuring the well-being of all participants.
The ban, effective from the first day of Dhu Al-Hijjah month (corresponding to June 19th), will be enforced in close coordination with the security authorities. It covers all sizes and types of LPG cylinders, including those used for heating water. Any violation of this ban will be met with legal consequences.
To ensure compliance, the Civil Defense has deployed prevention and safety supervision teams to conduct comprehensive field inspections. These inspections will cover the holy sites of Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat, as well as the offices of government agencies and commercial establishments operating in the area.
This proactive approach underscores the commitment of Saudi Arabia to prioritize the safety and security of all Hajj pilgrims. By taking these preventive measures, the authorities aim to create a secure environment where pilgrims can focus on their spiritual journey without the worry of potential hazards.
As we prepare for Hajj 2023, let us all support and cooperate with the Civil Defense and other relevant authorities to ensure a smooth and incident-free pilgrimage experience. Together, we can make this sacred journey even more memorable and meaningful.
