Commercial Promotions In Saudi Arabia Are Prohibited By The Use Of The National Flag

Local media reported that Saudi Arabia has banned the use of the national flag in commercial promotions and publications.
A circular issued by the Ministry of Commerce on Saturday bans individuals and businesses from using the flag in publications, goods and products, brochures, and special gifts.
According to the ministry, the national flag has the name of Allah and the official state emblem of two swords and palm trees. Saudi leaders and officials are also banned from using their pictures or names.
In order to control such violations, the ministry has conducted inspection tours in markets in all regions of the Kingdom, particularly on significant occasions like National Day. Also, e-shops are monitored and violators will be prosecuted.
