On Tuesday, the Ministry of Education announced that illegal foreign residents' children can enroll in schools for the upcoming academic year.
Schools should provide admission forms to parents of children residing illegally in the Kingdom and inform them to contact the ministry's offices in the regions where the children reside to complete the admission process.
To complete the enrollment process, approved admission forms are submitted to school authorities.
As a result of the move, illegal residents will be encouraged to correct their status in the Kingdom.
Across the Kingdom, education departments are required to provide a monthly statistical report on the number of students enrolled to the General Administration of Evaluation and Admission.
It must include personal information about the student, their parents, and their residency permit if available, or visit visa, as well as their permanent residence address and contact information.
It is also the student's guardian's responsibility to correct the student's residency status during the academic year 2022-2023, if they don't have the proper documents.
