4,845 Deeds For Cases Worth SR79 Million

The total number of requests for implementation submitted to the enforcement departments and courts related to maintenance cases reached 4,845 applications to recover more than 79 million riyals since the beginning of the current Hijri year 1439.

According to the Business Intelligence Platform at the Ministry of Justice, the existing Makkah region ranked first with 1840 applications to restore about 28.7 million riyals, followed by Riyadh with 1249 applications to restore 25.5 million riyals, then the Eastern Province with 681 applications to restore 8.1 million riyals, and Madinah with 306 applications to restore about 5.7 million riyals.

Jazan came in fifth place with 172 applications calling for about SR2.2 million, followed by Qassim with 159 applications asking for SR3 million, then Asir region by 148 to restore about SR2.3 million, and Tabuk region with 68 applications to restore about SR466,000.

Al-Jouf region recorded 61 applications to restore about SR1 million, followed by Hail with 55 applications to recover about SR403,000, then the Northern border area by 45 applications to restore about SR577,000. Najran had 17 requests to restore about SR131,000 and registered the lowest areas in the same period.

The Minister of Justice and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council Sheikh Dr. Walid Bin Mohammed Al-Sama'ani recently issued a circular to treat those who refuse to pay maintenance as abusers and take legal action against them.

The Ministry of Justice and the Supreme Judicial Council adopted a number of decisions, amendments and procedures that support the foster mother, which are intended primarily to protect families from struggling after separation, in addition to facilitating and speeding up procedures that may disrupt the interests of children and their mothers.

The recent amendments to the Bylaws, approved by the Minister of Justice, stipulate that the execution of sentences for alimony should be carried out directly without the procedures of Article 34 of the Law.
