An attempt to smuggle 1.1 million narcotic drugs hidden inside a shipment of toys, clothes, and other items has been foiled by Saudi Arabia.

Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) said the contraband was seized at Red Sea Jeddah port and five would-be recipients were arrested.

Saudi Arabia has foiled a number of drug smuggling attempts in recent months.

In five months, ZATCA officers foiled several attempts to smuggle 18 million drug pills into the kingdom.
