A heart-wrenching accident on the Al-Rain-Riyadh highway claimed the life of a Saudi woman en route to her father's funeral. The woman, traveling with her husband and children, died at the scene and was buried beside her father the same day.

Fatal Crash on Al-Rain-Riyadh Highway

On Sunday, a devastating vehicle accident occurred in the Qamran area, southwest of Riyadh. A Saudi family of six was traveling to attend a funeral when a large transport truck collided with their car.

The family’s car was completely crushed in the wreckage. While the father and the couple’s four children survived, the mother tragically died on the spot due to severe injuries.

Heroic Act of a Saudi Citizen

Mohammed Al Bijadi, a Saudi man returning from Riyadh, witnessed the wreck and sprang into action. His instinct led him to the mangled vehicle, where he worked to free the father and children from the twisted metal frame.

"It was a sense of duty," he later said. Despite his efforts, the mother had already passed away, crushed beneath the vehicle structure.

Children Rescued and Cared For

The family’s eldest child, a five-year-old girl, was in critical condition and was rushed to a hospital over 180 kilometers away. Al Bijadi stayed with the remaining children for the entire day until their relatives arrived.

In a moving moment, Al Bijadi told the children’s uncle over the phone, “Your children are my children. I will not leave them until they are safely in your care.”

Buried Beside Her Father

In a sorrowful twist of fate, the deceased woman was buried the same day beside her father, for whose funeral she was initially traveling. The event has shocked the community and drawn an outpouring of prayers and condolences.
