Saudi Urges International Pressure To Rein In 'terrorist Iranian Regime’
Category: International

Saudi Arabia has called on the international community to apply "utmost pressure with every tool available” to end Iranian aggression.

“The recent attacks on Saudi oil installations have exposed the Iranian regime to the world that we face a rogue and terrorist regime, threatening international peace and security, energy security and the global economy,” Saudi Foreign Minister Ibrahim Al-Assaf told the United Nations General Assembly in New York on Thursday.

The foreign minister asserted that Iran was responsible for the Sept. 14 attacks on the Abqaiq and Khurais oil installations, which temporarily knocked out more than five percent of daily global crude output.

“It is necessary for the international community to realize that cutting off sources of finance is the best way to compel the regime to renounce its militia, prevent it from ballistic missile and put and end to its destabilizing activities in the region and the world, Al-Assaf said.

The United States, France, Britain, and Germany have also blamed Tehran for the attack.

"We know very well who stood behind this aggression," Al-Assaf said.

"We have known that regime for 40 years. It is good at nothing but masterminding explosions, destruction, and assassinations, not only in our region but also throughout the world."

"Utmost pressure with every tool available should be applied to end the terrorist and aggressive conduct of the Iranian regime," he added.

Al-Assaf affirmed that the United Nations and the world as a whole are facing a moral and historic responsibility to deter and stand up against the terrorist and aggressive behavior of the Iranian regime.
