From a senior embassy advisor in Washington DC to an ambassador in Berlin, Prince Faisal bin Farhan has showcased remarkable capabilities that of a shrewd diplomat worthy of the biggest of stages. And with that, Prince Faisal was appointed Saudi Arabia’s new foreign minister last week. And a great decision that’ll prove to be.
Aged 45, and known to be sharp and hardworking, Prince Faisal will bring with him fresh perspective and dynamism; both of which the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has longed-for as of late. With the appointment alone, the ministry’s outlook is trending upwards.
Through his career experiences in western capitals, Prince Faisal garnered high reputability amongst peers and counterparts. A true statesman, expect the new foreign minister to make an immediate positive impact on Saudi foreign relations under the leadership and direction of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The newly-appointed minister will be a key defender of Saudi interests on the world stage, as well as supporting allies through initiatives and confronting enemies through dialogue.

Make no mistake, Prince Faisal bin Farhan is taking on the role of foreign minister having several challenges already on the table. Of course, maintaining solid relations with western allies has always been a top priority of the ministry; and that will surely be the new minister’s strong suit.
