During a Brunei Airlines flight from Dubai to Bandar Seri Begawan, a pregnant Filipina in her 38th week of pregnancy went into labor. Saudi doctor Mulfi Al-Khinjar successfully delivered the baby.

As a result of the flight crew calling to inquire if there was a doctor on board, Dr. Al-Khinjar volunteered to assist the pregnant woman in labor.

According to the agencies, Dr. Al-Khinjar introduced himself to the crew shortly after taking off when he heard the request over the intercom.

As soon as he arrived, a pregnant Filipina was having labor pains and in need of assistance. He discovered that she was about to give birth while examining her.

In addition to preparing the equipment that was on board, Al-Khinjar instructed the crew to communicate with the ground station to obtain advice from any specialized personnel.

After the ground station provided their recommendations, Dr. Al-Khinjar said he and the crew were left to take whatever steps they felt would be necessary to successfully assist the pregnant woman.

A Saudi doctor confirmed that he successfully delivered the baby on a plane with the assistance of a crew team. He also followed up on the health of the mother and the baby throughout their three hours in the air.

Dr. Al-Khinjar said Jenny Rose Josoy and her infant are doing well, noting that they were met at the airport with flowers.

Imad Al-Muhanna, the Kingdom's ambassador to Brunei, contacted Al-Khinjar to thank and commend him for saving the pregnant woman and her unborn child.

Ultimately, the envoy praised him for his behavior, which positively reflected on Saudi Arabia's reputation.

In a statement, the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Brunei Darussalam expressed its thanks and appreciation for Dr. Al-Khinjar's work as he performed the delivery on the flight bound for Bandar Seri Begawan while raising the name of the Kingdom through his good deeds.

Al-Khinjar is from Qurayyat City, Al Jouf Province, and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Melbourne and a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the University of Newcastle.
