Saudi Arabia has so far caught 3,988,685 illegal expatriates under a nationwide campaign which first started in November 2017.
According to last statistics by the Ministry of Interior, a total of 3,116,060 foreigners were deported for overstaying their residence permits; 614,054 were caught for flouting labour laws and 258,601 were arrested for violating border security.
The expatriates were arrested in a crackdown on illegal foreign workers, which started on November 15, 2017, under the slogan “Nation without Violators”.
According to the same statistics, 68,449 were caught infiltrating Saudi borders – 45 per cent of whom were Yemenis, 52pc Ethiopians and 3pc from other nationalities. A total of 2,830 were also arrested as they were attempting to leave Saudi Arabia illegally, according to Almowaten.
