The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (MHRSD) spokesperson, Muhammad Al-Razqi, confirmed that the official holiday for the 94th Saudi National Day will be observed on Monday, September 23, 2024. This announcement was made through his account on the X platform, referencing Article 24 of the executive regulations of the Saudi labor law.
Employers Urged to Follow Labor Law Provisions
Al-Razqi emphasized the importance of employers adhering to the provisions mentioned in the second paragraph of Article 24, ensuring compliance with Saudi labor regulations.
Coordination with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health
Earlier, MHRSD, in collaboration with the National Council for Occupational Safety and Health, announced the conclusion of the time period for the ban on working under direct sunlight. The ban, which lasted for three months, commenced on June 15, 2024, and ended on September 15, 2024.
Ministry’s Stand on HR Professions
The Ministry of Human Resources also reiterated that certain HR professions are restricted to Saudi citizens. This is in response to queries raised by citizens regarding whether expatriates are permitted to work in executive roles, such as that of an executive director, in private companies. The ministry confirmed that expatriates must work only in positions specified on their work permit or iqama.
