In the presence of a large crowd of important figures, intellectuals, artists and media persons, an evening of celebration with songs to mark the Kingdom’s National Day was held on Sunday jointly by the Jeddah Literary and Cultural Club and the Culture and Arts Society.
The celebrations were held under the motto “Hard work till we conquer the peak” with national songs by the female singer Lilya Muhammad. The function began with the Saudi national anthem where all the guests stood up in respect for the national anthem. This was followed by several national songs by Lilya Muhammad, whose singing was superb.
Nabila Mahjoob, supervisor of the Cultural Salon at the Jeddah Literary Club, made a speech in which she said that celebrating the Kingdom’s National Day is not restricted to a particular day or occasion, but the National Day celebration ought to be everyday and at all times because “the nation deserves a lot from us”.
She added that the current celebration is just a small celebration for a great and dear nation to all. Hence, the nation deserves to be celebrated.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the participants in the ceremony and its sponsors were honored. They included Medrainus Restaurants owned by the businesswoman Dr. Nashwa Abdulhadi Taher, Farsi Jewelry, Nasser Jameel Farsi, and Chocolate Corner owned by Salwa Bakr Ridwan.
