The number of road accidents in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) has dropped by 92%, according to the General Authority of Roads.
A total of 149 crossings around the nation were illuminated by solar panels, leading to this notable decrease. By making roadways more visible at night and by clearly marking pedestrian walkways, this program has increased traffic safety.
Another benefit of switching to solar power for lighting is the decrease in operational expenses and carbon emissions compared to more conventional energy sources.
According to the authorities, they handled 11,914 comments received via digital media and the phone center. Services for submitting reports and requests and responding to any and all queries were part of this. With a service level of 93%, the average response time was a mere seven seconds.
The significance of road users providing feedback and recommendations to enhance Saudi Arabia's road network is shown by the fact that customer satisfaction rose to approximately 89%.
Additionally, in the first half of this year, road users contacted the General Authority of Roads call center (938) via 42,422 calls and an extensive number of digital communication methods with inquiries.
Benefits of Solar Lighting
Solar lighting not only reduces accidents but also cuts down on operational costs and carbon emissions. This shift towards renewable energy sources is part of Saudi Arabia's broader commitment to sustainability.
