A 28-year-old man was arrested after he allegedly helped six men forge emigration clearance stickers in Delhi, said police Tuesday. The incident took place in 2016 when the six men, who were boarding a flight to Dammam in Saudi Arabia, were caught carrying fake Protector of Emigrants (POE) clearances from the emigration department by police at IGI Airport.

Police said the men were arrested. They later told police they were unemployed and wanted to settle in Saudi Arabia. Police said they were helped by two agents and a man in Dammam, who guided them about the emigration clearance. Sanjay Bhatia, DCP (Airport) said the two agents along with one officer from the emigration department, who helped the men in forging the clearance stickers, were arrested in 2016.

“On Monday, the 28-year-old was caught at Lucknow Airport after he returned from Dammam. He was recognized after a lookout circular was issued in his name,” said Bhatia.
