A Total Of 46 Million Amphetamine Tablets Were Foiled In Saudi Arabia
Category: Crime News

In one of the biggest smuggling attempts of amphetamine into the Kingdom in a single operation, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control (GDNC) foiled an attempt to smuggle more than 46.9 million tablets of amphetamine into the Kingdom.

Eight residents were arrested in the smuggling attempt, and 46,916,480 million amphetamine tablets were seized in a shipment of wheat sacks, according to GDNC Major Mohammed Al Nujaidi.

Upon arriving through Riyadh's dry port, the pills were confiscated at a warehouse, Al Nujaidi said, adding that six Syrians and two Pakistanis were arrested after hiding inside.

The number of tablets seized is the largest of its kind in a single smuggling operation, according to Al Nujaidi.

Security forces "firmly and decisively" monitor criminal networks targeting the security of the Kingdom and its people with drugs, he affirmed.
