A total of 500 tourists have so far entered Saudi Arabia from Bahrain via King Fahd Causeway using the tourism visas.
They are part of 778 foreigners who arrived in Saudi Arabia via the Eastern cross-border entry points ever since Riyadh authorities launched the online tourist e-visas.
Chinese visitors topped the list of visitors who entered Saudi Arabia through the King Fahd Causeway and other Eastern border points, followed by Americans and then citizens of other EU countries.
A group of 245 foreign tourists entered Saudi Arabia through King Fahd International Airport in Dammam, which recorded the second-highest number of tourists, after the causeway.
The newly-introduced electronic tourist visas which came into force on September 27, benefit EU member countries in addition to tourists from the two Americas, Japan, China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia, South Korea and South Africa.
