In order to ensure a safe and comfortable journey, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah urges departing Umrah pilgrims to adhere to the requirements of travel baggage sizes, weights and specifications.

Further, the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah clarified that the types of baggage allowed on the plane are fully closed packages and bags according to the number of pieces and weight allowed.

According to the Ministry, you may take one carry-on bag inside the plane as long as it does not exceed the allowed dimensions, such as a backpack, laptop bag, or handbag.

It is not allowed to carry plastic bags, damaged packages, open bags, or more luggage than specified in the ticket. Make sure you know all the baggage requirements before you get to the airport so that your travels go smoothly.

In order to reduce waiting time in the departure halls, the Ministry asked airline carriers to communicate when needed to ensure baggage specifications and the instructions from the GACA (General Authority of Civil Aviation).

It is the responsibility of all Umrah companies to confirm and follow up on the departure of Umrah pilgrims in accordance with their flight schedules and the need to educate them regarding the permitted dimensions and sizes of travel luggage.
