From July 12, 2022, the Transport General Authority (TGA) announced that drivers of public transport, airport taxis, and private hire taxis, as well as drivers of passenger transport applications, must wear a uniform as a prerequisite for practicing these activities according to the provisions of the regulation governing the activity of taxi and taxi intermediaries.
A uniform driver costume, explained the Authority, will contribute to enhancing the level of quality of transport activities in general and taxi services in particular, in a way that also enhances the overall appearance and positive image of these vital services and their direct connection with society as a whole.
It was also confirmed that this will take place within a set of periodic and continuous updates and improvements to the activities and services of taxi transportation and passenger transportation, including the technical specifications of taxis and the requirement for the operating life of these vehicles.
In addition to providing electronic payment to the beneficiaries of these services, the regulation also takes into account all aspects of development and improvement.
The Authority affirmed its constant and continuous commitment to serve the beneficiaries and keep pace with their aspirations, and to strive to achieve the highest standards of quality and satisfaction among the recipients of transport services across Saudi Arabia.
It invited all those interested in these services to visit tga.gov.sa to view the details of the approved uniform, as well as to call the unified number 19929 for further information.
