Second Phase Of Trial Run Of Makkah Bus Project Begins

Makkah - Tuesday marked the beginning of the second phase of the Public Bus Transportation Project in Makkah.
Routes 6, 7, and 12 in the second phase connect the Central Area, Haramain Express Train, and Um Al-Qura University, extending to Al-Buhairat area.
The new routes are likely to serve a larger number of visitors to the holy city.
Mid-February marked the beginning of the first phase of the project.
A total of 12 routes serve Makkah city, with about 425 stops and four major stations in the central region.
Initially, 400 buses will serve most of the city's areas, including 240 standard buses and 160 articulated buses, all of which are manufactured in Germany.
