Saudi Arabia's Supreme Court has urged all Muslims to investigate the sighting of the Shawwal crescent on Saturday, 29th Ramadan 1443, which is on 30th April 2022.
Anyone who sees it with their naked eye or through binoculars should contact the nearest court and record their testimony there, or contact the nearest center for help in finding the nearest court.
It is hoped that those who are capable of taking an interest in this matter will join committees formed in the regions for this purpose, and calculate the reward by participating in it, because of the cooperation in righteousness and piety for the benefit of all Muslims.
The sighting of the Shawwal crescent marks the end of Ramadan this year and the start of Eid Al-Fitr.
If the crescent is sighted on Saturday evening, the first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be on Sunday, 1st May 2022. The first day of Eid Al-Fitr will be Monday, 2nd May 2022, if the crescent is not sighted on Saturday evening.
Based on the astronomical calculations, Ramadan will last 30 days in Saudi Arabia this year, and Eid Al-Fitr will take place on 2nd May 2022.
