Saudi Arabia's General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) has set the conditions for shading the car's windows, emphasizing the importance of following four conditions.

In response to one of the residents who asked, Peace be upon you, Is it permissible to completely shade the window of one's car? Saudi Moroor clarified this point. How much is allowed?

Saudi Moroor's official Twitter account listed the following four criteria for car window shades:

1. A car window should be transparent, vision should not be obscured, and its percentage should not exceed 30%.

2. Any decorations, inscriptions, images or similar, which decrease the degree of transparency, may not be placed on the car window.

3. The car window should be of a type that is allowed in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and that is not harmful to humans or the environment, as set by the competent authorities.

4. On some medical conditions, the percentage of shading a car window can be exceeded, requiring a medical report.

Vehicles allowed and prohibited to be shading :

It has been clarified by the General Traffic Department that shaded vehicles are those with a cockpit, rear seats, and side or rear doors and are designed to transport people.

Vehicles that are not allowed to be shading :

It is permitted to shade only the portion of the rear seats in taxis, daily rental vehicles, sports vehicles (1 door), which can accommodate only the driver and companion if they have rear seats and separate windows, cargo transport vehicles.
