The General Directorate of Traffic (Moroor) in Saudi Arabia has clarified that the fine for failing to renew a vehicle registration on time is 100 Riyals.
According to Saudi Moroor, any driver who fails to renew his vehicle registration after a period of 60 days from its expiration is subject to a fine of 100 Saudi Riyals per year that he fails to renew.
- Moroor said that the vehicle registration renewal fee is 100 SR, and that it may increase based on the vehicle type, reaching 400 SR for a bus.
Procedure to be followed in case of losing Vehicle number plate :
The Traffic department released earlier this week the procedure to be followed in case of a lost number plate. An owner of a car in this situation must immediately report the loss of criminal records to the police department.
The vehicle owner must pay the required fees for getting a duplicate number plate, then submit an application at any of Moroor's offices after the loss of the vehicle number plate has been reported.
Traffic Violations of Non-Saudi vehicles :
This system detects violations of non-Saudi vehicle registration plates, according to Saudi Moroor.
The Passenger Transportation sector is open to Saudi citizens without vehicles:
Saudi Arabia's Traffic Department has confirmed that Saudi nationals who do not own a vehicle may work in the passenger transportation sector through guided vehicle applications.
This regulation is part of the new amendments made to regulations governing the activities of public taxis, routing services, and guided vehicles.
