Saudi Arabia Lifts All Restrictions Under COVID-19

All coronavirus restrictions in Saudi Arabia, including following social distances and wearing masks outside, ended on Saturday.

It will also end social distancing in the Two Holy Mosques and all mosques in the Kingdom, although worshipers will still need to wear masks. Masks are not required at open places but required indoors.

According to an official source at the ministry of interior, the new decisions will take effect starting on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Additionally, social distancing measures were suspended at all closed and open places, activities, and events.

Moreover, the country will no longer require travelers to undergo mandatory COVID-19 quarantine upon arrival. Passengers will also no longer need to provide a PCR test upon their arrival.

Visitors arriving on any type of visa to the Kingdom must purchase an insurance that covers the cost of treatment for Coronavirus infection.

The Kingdom lifted the suspension of direct flights and arrivals from the following countries (South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Malawi, Mauritius, Zambia, Madagascar, Angola, Seychelles, United Republic of Comoros, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Afghanistan).

According to the source, it is important to continue to implement the national plan for immunization, which involves taking a booster dose and applying procedures to verify health status in the "Tawakkalna" application to enter facilities, activities, events, planes and public transportation.
