Saudi Arabia Ends Immunization Checks At Two Holy Mosques
Category: Saudi Arabia

The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has scrapped the requirement for people entering the Grand Mosque in Makkah and the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah to be immunized.

Before lifting the precautionary measures against the spread of the Coronavirus in the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, the ministry reviewed the most important developments related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

For pilgrims from outside the Kingdom, the ministry also cancelled the requirement to register immunization data for an Umrah permit.

Permits are no longer necessary to pray at the Grand Mosque or visit the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah. However, permits are still required to perform Umrah and visit AlRawdah AlSharifa in the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah.

In the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, all social distancing measures have been lifted, but masks are still required.

Foreign pilgrims no longer have to submit a PCR test upon arrival, and institutions and homes are no longer required to quarantine pilgrims from outside the Kingdom.
