The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has made an unprecedented achievement after winning second place in the Hardwear CTF international contest, held in Holland last week, a Saudi Press Agency (SPA) report said.

The Kingdom was represented in this contest by the CRED team belonging to the Center of Excellence in Information Assurance (headquartered in King Saud University, Riyadh). Saudi Arabia was the only Arab country among 14 world teams from different countries.

Saudi participation received a great response in the international competition, which focused on several fields in information security. Most important of these (fields) are electronic reverse engineering, hacking of automobile systems, Bluetooth, and reverse engineering for fixed programs in electronic devices.

Hardwear.io is considered to be an international conference specialized in information security under the sponsorship and support of big technology companies and organizations, like Google, and the Dutch Center for Information Security in the Hague. The conference also attracts renowned information security researchers and consultants.
