The Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) has called on all Saudi citizens, residents, and visitors to the Kingdom to follow a number of measures to protect themselves from falling victim to financial fraud.

Fraudsters and unscrupulous people must be constantly aware of the various tricks and methods of financial fraud being used by unscrupulous people.

We urge the public to handle any dubious queries slowly and do not be rushed to provide personal and banking information to anyone through any link, website, text message or phone call claiming to be from a government or commercial entity.

A Central Bank official stressed the importance of verifying any party that requests personal and financial data in an informal way, such as via text messages, e-mail links, or social media.

Furthermore, the document stressed the importance of contacting the financial institution being dealt with as well as the security authorities as soon as possible in the event of a suspected fraud.
