The King Salman Park Foundation Board of Directors celebrates the inauguration of the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Tunnel, a groundbreaking addition set to revolutionize traffic management and ease congestion in Riyadh.

This achievement marks a significant milestone in the extensive development initiatives led by King Salman Bin Abdulaziz and the Crown Prince, reinforcing their commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and connectivity.

At a staggering length of 2,430 meters, the Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq Tunnel stands as the longest tunnel in the Middle East, serving as a vital artery beneath the expansive King Salman Park. It is a testament to Riyadh's ambitious urban transformation, which includes the construction of additional tunnels to optimize traffic flow.

Opening on Feb. 29, 2024, the tunnel boasts three lanes in each direction along with an emergency lane, all equipped with state-of-the-art traffic management and safety systems, ensuring smooth operations and rapid emergency response.

Inspired by Salmani architecture, the tunnel seamlessly integrates with Riyadh's natural landscape, featuring interior designs that pay homage to the city's distinctive rock formations. The use of sustainable materials underscores a commitment to environmental stewardship.
