The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Saudi Arabia renewed the reminder of workers rights to insure medically in accordance with the Saudi labor law.

The ministry through its official "Customer Care" account on Twitter said that, medical insurance is one of the legally established rights of the worker in the Kingdom.

- The Ministry of Human Resources added that Article 144 of the Saudi Labor Law stipulates that “the employer must provide his workers with preventive and curative health care in accordance with standard set forth by the Minister, taking into account what is provided by the cooperative health insurance law.”

- Earlier this, The Council of Cooperative Health Insurance (CCHI) clarified that the new employer is responsible to insure the worker and his dependents when the worker moves to a new job.

- This came in response from CCHI, after an expat inquired, His family insurance is new, but now he will transfer his job, so does he have to make the medical insurance for his family with new employer, or just renew his insurance.
