MHRSD Reports Over 9 Million Contracts Documented Via Qiwa Platform
Category: Expats

More than 9 million contracts have been recorded using the "Qiwa" platform at a rate of 35,000 contracts per day, according to the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development (HRSD) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry highlighted the importance of this measure in protecting workers' rights and creating a stable workplace, which in turn boosts employee productivity, ensures that companies are following the rules and regulations of the labor law, and decreases the frequency and severity of labor disputes.

Importance of Contract Documentation

The Ministry has issued a directive to all private sector workers, whether they are Saudi nationals or expatriates working abroad, to use the "Qiwa" platform's contract documentation service to organize their employment contracts. This will help protect their rights and promote trust amongst employees.

Benefits for Compliant Companies

Companies that pledge to record 80% or more of their employees' contracts will have full access to the Ministry's services, including the issuance of visas, the transfer of services, and the ability to change professions, according to the Ministry.

How Qiwa Platform Works

Employers in the private sector can use the "Qiwa" platform to add or update their employees' contract information, while employees can use the platform to check the authenticity of their contract data and approve, reject, or suggest changes.

Streamlining Employment Processes

The Ministry offers a variety of electronic services through the Qiwa platform. One of these is the contract documentation service. The platform serves as the primary interface for the labor sector and aims to automate and streamline all transactions between employees and private establishments, eliminating the need for paper transactions.

Supporting Labor Market Development

From the first job to the end of the contractual relationship, the service is there to support the labor market and its horizons, which include the establishment's journey from growth to expansion, as well as the employee's journey from the first job to the end of the relationship. All the services and tools that contribute to this journey are supported.
