The Indian government in 1950-60 issued notes for the use of pilgrims going for Hajj to Saudi Arabia from India.
These notes were issued in the denominations of 10 and 100, It had the word "HAJ" inscribed on the notes observe.
- The serial number of the notes was started with the letters 'HA', Later the notes were discontinued when the notes meant for circulation in the Gulf states withdrawn.
