GACA Has Directed Airlines To Refund The Institutional Quarantine Fee Received While Booking Tickets
Category: Travel

Saudi Arabia's General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) has ordered all airlines operating in the Kingdom, including General Aviation, to refund institutional quarantine package fees taken from passengers while booking their flight tickets before the government announced it would eliminate the requirement.

Non-compliance with the directives in the GACA circular constitutes an explicit violation of government orders. The GACA has warned all airlines that it will take legal action against the violators and hold them accountable. In its circular, the General Authority of Civil Aviation stated that travelers are no longer required to undergo institutional quarantine at Corona hospitals and home quarantine upon arrival in Saudi Arabia. There is no need for passengers to submit a negative PCR test result before entering the Kingdom.

The Civil Aviation Authority specified that all people coming to Saudi Arabia on visit visas are required to have insurance that covers treatment for Covi-19 infection while they are there.

In an announcement on 5th March, the Ministry of Interior announced the Kingdom would scrap all Corona virus restrictions including social distancing and wearing masks outdoors.

In addition, the decision stipulates that no longer will there be social distancing between the Two Holy Mosques and all the mosques in the Kingdom, but that worshippers should still wear masks. Masks should be worn in closed areas or indoors.
