Several cities in Saudi Arabia, including the capital Riyadh, have low incomes and sometimes delay in paying their monthly salaries, which makes them beg in the streets and at traffic signals
Reports from the Al-Ekhbariya Tv channel indicate that the average salary of a cleaner in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is 510 Saudi Riyals, based on a survey of 58 workers in Dammam, Qatif, Al-Ahsa, Hafar Al-Batin, Jeddah, Al Baha and Al-Qurayyat.
According to the survey, the highest salary for a cleaner in the kingdom is 750 riyals and it is in the Al-Ahsa governorate, while the lowest salary is 350 riyals in Riyadh and Hafar Al-Batin.
The report of Al-Ekhbariya stated that low wages for cleaners lead them to practice different practices, which bring them additional income, and begging is their top choice.
One of the cleaners told Al-Ekhbariya news that most of the salary is used to buy food.
One of the Saudi citizens stated in a report that, he believes that cleaners are paid too little and that the authorities should look into this matter and raise their salaries.
