Children Aged 5-11 Will Be Considered 'immune' After Receiving The Second Dose
Category: Saudi Arabia

Following the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines, the health status on Tawakkalna will change to 'immune' for children aged 5-11.

The status in the Tawakkalna application will not display "Received a first dose" if children aged 5-11 receive the vaccine in the first instance. Instead, the status will read "Not proven to be infected", while immunity will be indicated after receiving the second dose.

Tawakkalna provides an app that allows users to schedule appointments for their family members aged 5-11 to receive COVID-19 vaccines.

In Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Health has revealed two vaccines that are available for children: Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna, and the two vaccines can be taken in two doses.

Children aged 5 and older are eligible for coronavirus vaccines, the Ministry of Health said, noting that children aged 5-11 are given the second dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least 3 weeks after the first, while the Moderna vaccine is given to children aged 12 and older.
